LabdeMed has the planning always under control

Medical laboratory LabdeMed has been offering laboratory testing in Curaçao since 1979, and is well known to professionals and consumers alike. Patients, companies and medical professionals can come to the laboratory for various regular and advanced tests. With 22 branches, over 100 employees, different target groups and the large number of different tests, organisation and planning is a constant challenge. Angeline Veeris, Executive Assistant and Rachelle Le Blanc, Customer Relations and Media Administrator on the use of Dyflexis at Labdemed.

Planning is most important

Besides the 22 branches spread across the island, Labdemed also offers a mobile lancing service for patients who cannot or do not want to come to the lancing stations themselves. So, with this number of branches, the staffing for these and the many appointments scheduled daily, planning is always a challenge. Within the organisation, planning improvement had therefore long been under consideration, and in corona time this gained momentum.

Angeline: “Good planning is always a challenge for us, and because it is so important, a lot of time is spent on it. Both by management and employees. When things got a lot busier, planning software was looked at as an option to speed up and simplify the process. Dyflexis looked good and could provide the solutions we were looking for. So we started working with scheduling first and it works well. Before, we spent a lot of time making the rosters and it was difficult for many employees to keep up with changes. The work schedules are now easily accessible to everyone, which provides overview, peace of mind and more flexibility. Via the app, employees can easily register their hours themselves, when they, for example, fill in at another location. This gives us instant insight into occupancy and hours worked per location.”

Solutions

Besides more insight and flexibility in personnel planning, the new way of working certainly saves time. Employees from different departments are now involved in the creation of the planning. Thus, Labdemed ensures optimal staffing more quickly. A better understanding of each other’s work has emerged and because all components have been properly discussed, Labdemed ensures the most efficient use of the software. Soon, LabdeMed will also look into linking with payroll. The company’s growth has increased the need for full automation. “Together with Dyflexis, we hope to grow further in the coming period, save time and manage productivity across locations,” Angeline and Rachelle jointly conclude.
